The
history of Stuart "Capt Stu Beans"
LeVine is a long and winding road. No pun, he is
in fact a Beatles fan.
Born in 1965 and raised most of his life in a 4
bedroom house in Queens, New York, Stuart grew up
amongst a family of photographers, dating back to
the early 1900s. Both his grandfathers were
photographers, as is his father, who currently
owns a custom black and white lab in New York
City, aptly named Stuart
Photo Service.
Growing up in a photography household was not easy.
Children never want to sit still, and Stu would
rather be playing music than sitting there posing
for pictures. From the late 70s to today, 'Stu
Beans' has been singing and playing bass
professionally throughout New York City.
In 1991, Scuba Diving became a passion. Soon after
that, a housing was purchased for his first
digital camera, the Kodak DC265, and the rest is
history. Having logged hundreds of dives and
thousands of pictures, the underwater addiction is
as strong today as it was during that first dive
in Cozumel.
Combine the love of travel with the love of
imagery and you have the perfect combination for
photography. Be it nature, portraiture, live music,
fine art or underwater photos, Stuart strives to
create something different. To contact him
